Already making friends up north, Dakota Fanning was spotted chumming it up with “New Moon” co-star Rachelle Lefevre in Vancouver, Canada on Friday (May 8).

The pair, who brought Rachelle’s little sis along for the outing, ended up arriving at Blue Water Cafe for a cast members party being thrown at the local eatery.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Fanning arrived in Vancouver for work on the “Twilight” sequel earlier this week.

A new addition to the original “Twilight” cast, Dakota will be playing a character named Jane, described as “a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior.”

New Moon set updates: photos, tweets, and notes

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

Apparently, according to screenplay writer Melissa Rosenberg, the set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon is “a ridiculously happy place to be.” Says she, “Chris Weitz is the zen ringmaster doing a fantastic job. The Volturi look amaaaazing. Michael Sheen embodies Aro so completely, elevating the role to a whole new level. Dakota as Jane knocks me out.” (The whole note is available at Twilight Gossip here.)

Michael Sheen, who was cast as Aro in the series and who is known for his fan accomodation via Twitter, had a lot to say as well, affirming Rosenberg’s note. Telling us that he is wrapping up the scenes with Edward and Bella (for more on this, see here), and that he had the chance to meet New Moon author Stephenie Meyer, Sheen then went on to say that he “keep[s] forgetting how freaky [he] look[s] with [his] red eyes.” Continues Sheen, “[I] think Dakota may look the most unsettling though. So angelic yet so weird . . . like an evil red riding hood.” A few weeks back, we brought you a fan poster of Dakota Fanning as Jane that might give you an idea of what to expect, and Sheen’s description fits the bill.

So, what do you think? Are you glad that Michael Sheen finds Dakota Fanning to look so disturbing as Jane? Are you upset that David Slade is scoping out filming locations for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Vancouver, despite all of Washington state’s attempts to accomodate the film? ‘Twilight’ poll: Dakota Fanning is Jane, who should be Alec?

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

Now that Dakota Fanning’s casting as vampire Jane in the Twilight sequel New Moon is official, we can resume our discussion about who should be cast as her bloodsucker brother Alec in a manner so serious that the PopWatcher who posts as “Sgt. Hatred” will be forced to once again comment, “This article, fans of this series and any others involved in it are the cancer that is killing worthwhile entertainment.” Keep in mind that actors can play younger than their age, dye their hair, and survive a Disney career — and vote in our reader-generated poll. Is Dakota Fanning Joining Kristen Stewart in an All-Girl Band?

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

Dakota Fanning could be exploring her musical talents in a new project.

The 15-year-old actress is currently negotiating with River Road Entertainment to star in ‘Runaways’, a film about the all-girl band from the ’70s, Variety reports.

If Fanning signs on she would play Cheri Currie, who became a music star at age 15 as the Runaways lead singer, the trade paper writes.

‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart has been cast as Runaways band member Joan Jett.

Coincidentally, Fanning previously expressed her interest in working with Stewart and her ‘Twilight’ co-stars in the sequel ‘New Moon’.

Round 2: Dakota Fanning Talks Twilight New Moon

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

MoviesOnline caught up again yesterday with Dakota Fanning at the Los Angeles press day for her new movie, “Coraline,” and asked her if she had any more news on her upcoming role in the Twilight sequel, “New Moon.” Dakota is a fabulous person and we really appreciated her time. Here’s what she had to tell us:

MoviesOnline: Speaking of roles, can you talk a little bit about Twilight and the reports that you’ve signed on for New Moon? Have you sealed the deal yet?

Dakota: It’s not 100% yet set in stone but it’s definitely not like totally untrue or a rumor or anything. It’s definitely a possibility and I think it would be really, really fun to be a part of. I’m a big fan of the cast and to join them would be a really great honor and I really hope that it works out and I hope I can give you a definite answer soon.

MoviesOnline: What is it about it that you’re looking forward to most?

Dakota: I think just playing an evil vampire. That’s really cool. So, if I got to do it, that would be probably the most fun part.

MoviesOnline: When you consider roles like Cassie in “Push,” or Coraline, and now Jane in “New Moon,” is there a common theme or something that attracts you to all of them? Is it the complexity of the character or the opportunity to grow as an actor?

Dakota: I think that they’re just different from each other and they’re different kinds of films and, you know, I like to kind of always keep myself on the edge of my seat of what I’m going to do next and do something that I’ve never done before and something that maybe I’ve always wanted to do. I think it’s hard to say how you plan out what you want to do. I think you just know it when it comes to you.

MoviesOnline: Has there been a role you’ve read in the scripts you’re being sent now that you wanted to do but maybe your mom thought was a little too old for you?

Dakota: No, there hasn’t been so far.

MoviesOnline: Are you picking roles that are appropriate for your age or are you trying to pick ones that are older?

Dakota: No. I mean, I think that everything that I’ve kind of been drawn to has been appropriate and I’ve never had an argument with my mom about it or anything. We’re always on the same page.

MoviesOnline: And that would apply to the Twilight sequel, “New Moon”?

Dakota: Yes, it would. Yeah.

MoviesOnline: You seem to be transitioning so easily from being a child actor to being a young adult actress. Why do you think that has happened so easily for you?

Dakota: I think if you really want it badly enough and you really want it for yourself, it’s you wanting it, I think that you’ll be able to do it. And for me, I don’t think you can take it too seriously either and too technically, like “Oh my God, I’m going to transition from this month to this month and I’m going to do this movie.” I think what you’re drawn to, like the things that I’m drawn to, reflect the age I am and the maturity that I have, and I think that you just have to be very natural about it. I really want this so badly and I want to do this forever and I think that’s why I’m able to keep going because I just never want to stop. I don’t ever see myself not doing this.

Dakota Fanning Talks ‘New Moon,’ Working With ‘Very, Very Cute’ Robert Pattinson

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

‘I really hope it works out,’ actress says of playing Jane in the ‘Twilight’ franchise.

With two films opening next weekend, Dakota Fanning’s life is pretty crazy these days. And as soon as she signs on the “Twilight” dotted line, she knows it’s going to get even more insane.

“I know that a lot of people know about it,” the soon-to-be-15-year-old star of “Push” and “Coraline” told MTV News on Friday (January 30), referring to her ongoing negotiations to join “New Moon” as Jane. “I’m glad that people are excited about me possibly being in it. That’s so nice!”

What’s nice for Twilighters is the thought of the critically praised child star bringing her considerable talents to their beloved franchise — a deal that she told us was looking quite good at the moment. “I wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent, but it’s definitely, obviously a possibility and something that would be really cool,” exclaimed the star of such blockbusters as “War of the Worlds” and “Man of Fire.” “I really hope it works out.”

The high-profile sequel would mark a huge departure from Fanning’s typical roles, casting her as a sadistic Volturi guard who has the power to inflict immense pain on those who cross her. “It’s definitely something that I look forward to,” she said. “I think you have to do all kinds [of roles], and eventually I am going to be the person you hate in a movie. And that’s the fun thing about acting: You can be sweet and be mean at the same time in different films.”

Explaining why she’d be a good fit for Jane, Dakota added: “We’re both pale. … I don’t think they’d have to put a lot of makeup on me if it works out. I’m pretty pale as it is.”

Fanning also revealed that while she hasn’t read all of Stephenie Meyer’s novels yet, it is her love for Catherine Hardwicke’s film that makes her want to join “New Moon” and take her own character into the franchise’s future movies. “I haven’t read all of them,” she explained. “But I have seen the film, and I’m a very big fan of the cast. I love all of them. I would look forward to getting to work with them.”

Dakota Fans “New Moon” Flames

Author: TM-admin  :  Category: Uncategorized

Since word broke that Dakota Fanning was in talks to play Jane — the petite blonde member of the deadly Volturi with a Botticelli angel-like face and crimson irises, in “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon” — everyone with a stake in the franchise has been chomping at the bit to know if the 14 year old would sign on the dotted line.

Whether coincidentally or intentionally planned, DakFan is currently out promoting her new movie, “Push,” so it’s been real easy to get a comment from her on the subject. “I really hope it works out,” she told Hitfix.com. “It would be a really fantastic experience, I’m sure,” she added making her already a million times better at dealing with the press than Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart.

The move would also give the sequel some serious acting clout, since Dakota is considered the most talented actress of her generation, and was just chosen as one of 2008’s Scene Stealers by V Magazine.

In the issue — on stands now — Dakota says, “Acting is definitely what I want to do for the rest of my life.” So signing on to a major franchise like “Twilight” would be a fantastic move for the actress, who really only has a mega-hit on her resume — 2005’s “War of the Worlds.”
